CHARLES & MARGARET EVANS

FOSTER PARENTS

Charles and Margaret Evans have been foster parents with Community Connections since 2002. During their years with the agency, they have provided foster care services for 24 children, and short term respite care for many others. Charles and Margaret were motivated to become foster parents by the encouragement of Margaret’s sister, who already was a foster parent herself. The more time Charles and Margaret spent with the children in her sister’s care, the more interested the couple became in opening their home to children as well. As a daycare worker, Margaret already had a great love for working with children, and the decision to become foster parents felt very natural to the Evans family.

Charles and Margaret offered this advice to anyone considering becoming a foster parent:

“As a foster parent, you must have patience, and be understanding of the children that come into your home. You will have many different children placed in your home and it is all very rewarding.”

Charles and Margaret were nominated by the Family Focused Treatment Association (FFTA) and were recognized as Foster Caregivers of the Year in 2019 for their outstanding service provided to children in their foster home.
