BOARD RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves a 3-year term on the Board, and based on performance during this term, becomes eligible for additional terms on the Board.
Attends full Board of Directors quarterly meetings for approximately 2 hours, either in person or by conference call. At the initiation of the Executive Director or Board President, Board members are asked to attend additional conference call meetings.
Participates in campaigns and events to fund specific needs of children in foster care (winter coats, spring outfits, etc.) along with periodic social or entertaining events to gather children and families in Community Connections programming.
Board members are asked to participate in a minimum of one committee or in a leadership role.
Make a serious commitment to participate actively in Community Connections Board work, including bringing ideas, skills and feedback needed for effective and productive work. It is estimated that Board members will spend 3 - 5 hours per month on Board work, including meetings and events.
Builds a collegial, working relationship with other committee members that contributes to building consensus and making decisions as a Board.
Participates in the Board’s strategic planning efforts along with supporting the advancement of fundraising plans. All Board members are asked to make a donation which is meaningful or significant to them, however, it is anticipated that the Board will be reviewing this requirement as part of the strategic plan.
